Any suggestions

Packard Bell imedia x2415 Q6600 2.4 GHz, GTX650 GPU, 500w PSU. Motherboard MCP73VT-PM

Recently purchased 2x2GB DDR2 to replace the existing 1x1GB & 1x2GB RAM

When I put in 4GB RAM I could not boot up to windows 7 and just hangs. For experimental purposes I did manage to boot up Linux light using a USB boot. I have tested the new ram and it appears OK.

If I put in a new 2GB RAM + 1GB original its fine. Its just that little bit extra that tips it over the edge.

The seller seems to think its the low powered PSU. Does anyone recommend I upgrade this or have any other solutions.

(I cannot get to the CMOS battery to reset it because the graphics card is above it and its hell to remove. Plastic clip stuck shut. I don't want to risk damaging it with pliers).

Thanks in advance

Try booting with only one stick of RAM into Windows 7. Does that work? Also, do you have a 64-bit or 32-bit OS?

Have you tried using both RAM sticks individually by themselves?

Yes to all the above. Tried all various combinations in the 2 available slots. No luck.
