Troubleshooting refresh Windows 8.1

Hi all,
When trying to refresh my Win8.1, I get "There was a problem with refreshing your PC. No changes were made. I read here that there might be a problem refreshing/reseting for Win 8 OS updated to 8.1 through MS shop. Anyone is aware about anything concerning that? Any news or updates?

Are you trying to refresh using a recovery partition or an 8.1 update disk? I'd assume you're using the factory recovery partition since you updated through MS shop? If you originally had Windows 8 installed and do a refresh it will return your system to windows 8 which I suppose might cause a conflict with any devices installed or attached since the update.

-Taken from Microsoft website:

~If you upgraded your PC from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and your PC has a Windows 8 recovery partition, refreshing your PC will restore Windows 8. You’ll need to upgrade to Windows 8.1 after the refresh has finished.~

I wouldn't think that in and of itself, that should cause a failure to complete the refresh though.

I would read the following thread in it's entirety and if none of the solutions work then create a Windows 8.1 USB recovery image using the methods at the last link below:
