I'm taking a VoIP class so I bought a VoIP phone for home use just to get acquainted. We haven't covered much yet but my question is: Is there a quick way to set this phone up without going through a bunch of steps, just to get it to the point where I can make calls?

I know we are going to talk about cucm and putting configs on a TFTP server, but I'd just like to get the phone operational until we get around to discussing that. My phone model is "Cisco IP Phone 303". I'd love to get a couple pointers to be able to get this thing operational (if not fully feature funtional) in a brief amount of time. I will learn more about additional features later. Thanks very much.

The easy and quick way to configure this phone is here -
Connect your phone to the internet connected computer. When you get IP on display enter username and password. After the successful login you'll be redirected to next window where you will see three options - SIP, lines and basic configuration. In basic configuration enter the credential (ext no, username and password). Once completed you will be able to make calls.

Hey thanks for the response but I think you missed a step. I don't have a call manager or anything like that configured yet, that is kinda my question. So because of that, obviously I don't have any username or password. I need to know if there is any decent, free call manager out there that would be good to use and that kind of thing.
