I am building a pc, and the 24 pin power connector from the PSU won't go all the way into the Mobo so that there is a half a mm to a mm gap in between the between the edges of the plastic,
There is just enough of a gap so that the clip won't set in place. The 24pin connector is very firmly set though and takes quite a bit of force and wiggling to remove it. Can I leave leave it as is since it is so firmly in place? ( I have already applied quite a bit of force and I doubt it will go in further without breaking something) or should I try applying more force till the pin clicks in and there is no gap? Also the mobo only seems to have only one power plug that says its for case fans, and the only other thing that has three pins that looks like a fan connector is the JUSB_pw1 is that usable? if not what is that plug for? Thank you for your time and help.

No, it is best to make sure the 24 pin is fully in before turning your pc on. You have to make sure the clip is engaged! The reason I say this is because it could wiggle in and out very slightly causing a surge of power to components which may short something. It is best to ensure atleast the 24 is in securely as that is the main power to all your components. I suggest buying an extension as it will serve your purpose and they are quite cheap. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Female-Power-Supply-Extension-Cable/dp/B00EVPDT30/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1410126989&sr=8-3&keywords=24+pin+extension

What motherboard do you have? If you give this we can tell you where and how many fan connectors there are.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help, The Mobo is a MSI 760GM-p34, I also tried the 24 pin one more time and this time the pin clicked in so thats fine, thanks for the info about the extensions, ill keep that in mind if it ever happens to me again.

Ok looks like that motherboard only has two fan connectors. One for the cpu fan and one for a case fan. You can buy connect additional ones by using molex and using this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Akasa-AK-CB001-multi-connection-reduction/dp/B001J2YRU2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410127631&sr=8-1&keywords=molex+to+3+pin+fan+adapter
or you can get this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pin-Fan-Splitter-Cable-Female/dp/B00EY9FYLS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410127663&sr=8-1&keywords=3+pin+splitter

Great if the 24pin clicks in!
