Metro: 2033 Redux - SSAA, Low FPS with GTX780ti??

Hi guys, i have a GTX 780ti running with a i5 4760k @3.4Ghz.

Everything is fine with the game untill i try and turn the SSAA from "Off" to "2x".

With 2X SSAA, im getting around 45 - 60fps (But i only reach 60 fps when in very closed areas with not much going on). I have resorted to turning the SSAA OFF but i cant stand even the slightest jaggered edges and i would prefer to play with more AA enabled, but at a cost of frames per second. Is there any known issue for this?

I understand how SSAA works to a degree as it is Super Sampling, but i dont understand how my GTX 780Ti, cant hold a stable FPS with only even 2x SSAA.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Other than SSAA being turned off, i have all the highest settings and playing at 1080P

Maybe a little disappointed that I spent so much money on a card that can't achieve 60 fps on current games, at 1080p. In retrospect, it simply wasn't worth the upgrade. You seem to require at least 2 in SLI to achieve the kind of performance you'd expect from 1.

Well, SSAA means super sample anti-aliasing, which renders the image at a higher resolution (2X SSAA = 2560x1440 I believe) and then scales it down to your current resolution, so yes SSAA is extremely demanding and IMHO, not worth it. Toggle it on, then off, in-game, even on a 27' 1080p monitor I can't notice the difference.

The Metro games are already extremely demanding, so it's no surprise that SSAA will drop your frames significantly. For reference, my 770 achieves around an average of 30 FPS with 2X SSAA on, with highs of 60 in closed areas with nothing going on, and lows in 20s when in a firefight or other demanding part of the game.
