I've tried portforwarding many different ways. I've dropped my firewall, made my modem bridge mode, completely stopped using my router, went into the modem settings and opened every port manually. It still says the ports are closed, and when i play xbox all of my games are STRICT NAT. Anybody know how to fix this? I've had this problem for years and now that Destiny comes out I need these ports opened. Also i've tried setting a static Ip and it just DC's my computer. Even downloaded the program from portforward.com and it does the exact same thing. Any more details needed let me know, PLEASE help me. Thanks!

Chibb, run this tool via the website link and see if any ports can be accessed. Don't post any results of your IP address though. Just see if any ports pop up red on the table there.

You can check if you're behind a CG-NAT too by doing a tracert. If you see RFC1918 or RFC6598 addresses after a couple of hops, or your traceroute cannot lookup the 2nd hop, then chances are you're behind a CGN.

The ranges you want to check for are;

10.0.0.0 - to - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - to - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - to - 192.168.255.255

Do the tracert to Google @ 209.85.225.104 if you need an IP address to use.

I dropped my 3rd party router, and only use my Ubee modem. The NAT Type is now OPEN on my Xbox (Which was the goal so yay.) But when i check to see if ports are open, they still say closed. Should i just let it do its thing or is it saying OPEN but its still really Strict? Thanks

If that change (dropping the router) is giving you an open NAT then hopefully that indicates it's just something with the router stopping those ports from opening. I believe that ports will show as closed if they aren't in use, even if you've set them as open.

It may be worth checking for a firmware update for your router then unplug it for 10 minutes You can also Enable UPnP and enable the DMZ (this lowers security however). See if any or all of that helps.
