I have encountered a problem with my computer, recently it has not been booting. Sometimes it the fans turn on and the bios flashes on my monitor for about half a second then my monitor turns off but my fans are still running. Sometimes I'll get as far as booting the OS but then my computer shuts off in the middle of a boot. It's EXTREMELY frustrating because i spent $1000 on it. Help?

Post your complete and detailed build.

If you take the hard drives out of it, does it POST OK? You need an internal speaker fitted for this - http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

When it shuts down in the middle of the boot, does it fully shut down or just the screen goes off?

If its just the screen, you might be in luck and its just a loose cable or your GPU is going bad. If not, and the PC is actually shutting down, you will have a lot of trouble because it could be your CPU, RAM, motherboard, PSU, or GPU causing this to happen and there is no real way to know which. You can test all the parts if someone else you know has a compatible computer, or you can take it all the way apart including the CPU, RAM, GPU, everything. Then with just the PSU and motherboard push the button. Your PC will start beeping. The number of beeps will say a certain PC part is missing. You will put that part in, and then try again. Continue until all parts are in, and hopefully after placing one part inside you will have the same problem again or it will say its not inside and tell you the problem. Otherwise this will be a pain to solve.

I'm kinda sorry to say, but any chance you can return it? I'm not sure what country you live in, but even going by the prices in like India, China, Germany, Britain, Canada, Australia, and USA if someone charged you $1000 they way way way over charged you.

Oh wait, you have a 6-core AMD CPU, at first I thought you had an A6 APU. I was like "Yikes!" to the whole system. In that case your CPU isn't so bad, but your GPU is ancient. That might be your whole problem, it could be dead after all these years.

The rest of your system would help though.

I'm guessing. Waiting for the OP to clarify. $1000 really? The rest better be fantastic!

Tell me about it, at $1000 this makes me feel really bad for him. Maybe he has a large SSD or several HDDs or something.
