Running Windows 7, sometimes when I go to click on something (usually after switching windows) I cannot get the clicks to register. Right Click and Scroll wheel work, and hitting ctrl-alt-delete to bring Task Manager up usually resets the functionality, but only for a short time. This is happening on multiple mouses

Could be a USB power thing.
Go to Device Manager, and then expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
Right-click USB Root Hub and then click Properties.
Click the Power Management tab.
Remove the check from the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
Repeat for each USB Root Hub listed in the Device Manager.

Open Power Options, click Change Plan Setting, click Change advanced power setting, then USB settings. For USB selective suspend settings make sure it is disabled.

Failing that, what brand mouse and how old is it? Sometimes the switch buggers up, and it's usually the left one that goes first!
