planning to build PC for Home studio recording

Hi guys,

Im totally new at this and would appreciate your inputs.I may also add, im not a techy guy.

Im planning to build a PC for a home recording studio, im planning to use AMD fx-8350 as the processor, since its cheaper VS intel CPUs. what are the other components that i should purchase? my bro gave me an avid fast track duo interface with pro tools. will this device work with AMD ? tnx

Yup that will work.

Just one thing, if you have your system in the same room where you are doing recording (with mics) get a insulated case and silent fans.

You forgot a case, and I would get a better SSD (Samsung 840 evo) and not use a Samsung Hard drive. You can get a Seagate 1tb drive for like $60, I don't see why you should pay $92 for a Samsung. Same thing with your GPU. you can get an ASUS one for only like $40 which is better then that sketchy brand.

This is what I recommend. This has a better hard drive, a MUCH better SSD that is also bigger, better power supply.
For audio recording, its best to save audio data on SSD during a project, then once you are done, store it in the HDD.
