I would recommend going with the PG278Q http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MSOND8C. Not only is it a 1440p display that you will likely keep for quite some time but it's also G-sync ready which will give you an amazing experience.

If you plan to SLI your 780ti or upgrade when the new series comes out then you will be able to utilize the ROG Swift to it's full potential. Currently you won't be able to fully utilize the high refresh rate but there are other features that are still worth purchasing the monitor for as well as longevity.

Take a read of the quote from techrepublic:

"ASUS PC278Q
This monitor is something of an honorable mention in the brand-name category, as it isn’t quite up to par with the displays offered by Apple and Dell above, but it does come at an attractive price. The MSRP is $759.99 (USD), though Newegg currently offers it at $559.00 (USD), and B&H offers it for $554.10 (USD). The PC278Q is only a PLS display, not a higher-quality IPS display, so photographers and others who require precision color reproduction should take note. Gamers may well find it to be a better option, however, as this monitor offers a 5ms response time. Also, at 300 cd/m², it is darker than the other displays. Like the Dell UltraSharp, it connects via D-Sub (VGA), DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort, but it lacks the USB 3.0 hub. Unlike the Dell display, it features two 3W stereo speakers."

Have a read on the PB278Q.

I think for the price difference.. the PB278Q is for sure the best option :)

I would just go with the ASUS PB278Q running anything higher than 60hz refresh is going to be tough without like an sli 780 or something. It's not worth the extra price imo.
especially since it's 900$! I would still go with the PB278Q myself :)

A 780ti will have no problems getting good frames. I'm just saying when you have a 100+ refresh monitor, Your gpu is going to render more than 60fps at a time. Which is going to put a much larger load on your card = heat, wear etc. So to get the most out of your card, a monitor with 60refresh is sufficient. Your card would have to be rendering over 100fps to even take advantage of the high refresh.

If this makes any sense :p
