My roommate is really good at putting together computers but his suggestions for parts have been overboard (price wise) for a computer that I want to play LoL, DOTA2, and watch Netflix.

I do not need:
OS
CD drive
Keyboard/mouse/etc

So a case+ all internals (including a power supply).

If you wanted to spend more I would swap the GPU for a R9 270 if you decide to play more demanding games. You could also get an H97 or Z97 motherboard which will support the Broadwell CPUs when they are released.
