So I will be pairing my i5 4690 non k with a B85 Pro4 motherboard and a r9 290 tri x which will be overclocked to receive the performance of a r9 290x stock. Will than be enough to run all games 40 fps or more on ultra in 2 years.

More about : 4690 untill 2016

Predicting the future accurately is impossible, but I'd say that you'll be able to run most games on ultra in 2 years, although there will be some games that need more power than an R9 290 has. This all just a guess though.

The i5-4690 should last longer than 2-3 years. If it doesn't then everyone is in trouble, since there's nothing significantly stronger scheduled to release for the next 2 years at least. :3
Broadwell will be a bit of an upgrade, but nothing groundbreaking enough to cause developers to stress any current i5s, probably just a modest 5-10% improvement focused on low-power use, since it's an efficiency improving "tock" for Intel, and not a performance increasing "tick".

But yeah, the i5-4690 is a great CPU and won't bottleneck any two cards.
