I recently purchased a R9 290 with reference cooling (used one), and as you might understand it's quite loud. So I am looking to upgrade the cooling, then I spotted the Xtreme IV and I am amazed by how it's performing. But given it has a backplate with fins, I am worried whether it'll fit or not...
I have an Asrock Z87M Extreme 4 motherboard
My 4670K is cooled by my Gelid Solutions Tranquillo Rev. 2 (main concern)
Fit into a Silverstone SG10.
The space between the PCB and my CPU cooler is narrow, about 1,5CM (rough estimate). So do you think it'll fit? If not should I still buy it and install it without the backplate? Or should I go with a cheaper option like the Gelid ICY revision 2?
