Hi I am building a home office use desktop PC. This is the first time I m building a PC.

Apart from routine office work, such as. Document processing, internet browsing, i will be also using it for some development using mainly Python, JavaScript and bash shell programming (UNIX scripting), running at most 2 linux VMs or 1 windows and 1 linux VM at the same time via virtualBox and for leisure will be using it for watching movies.

Here's my finalised config:

I am not buying a dvd writer coz I have a laptop at home to use my cds hence I dont really need it at the moment. Besides almost all discs are backed up and data is on a hard disk connected to my home router so I can access it via ftp of course.

Anything that you guys would like to suggest or give any feedback.... Please do so.. I am very nervous with it and kind of worried what if my decision goes wrong in deciding what parts to buy n what if they dont work due to compatibility issues or any minor thing that I might have missed.

Also, I wanted to know, can the ports on mother board be only used if there is a support for that on the IO Panel? I mean What exactly is the IO Panel? Just the front part on the CPU? If so, then that means that even if there is not a USB 3.0 port on the IO Panel, I can access it on the back of the CPU right? Or am I wrong in my understanding?

Thanks

Further Update:

A friend suggested me to go for VIP cabinet and VIP SMPS as they are very budget friendly however after reading comments on this post on VIP SMPS and another advise by a tomshardware user (Graphics Card expert) HERE, I decided to stick with Corsair 550W for PSU.

Just that please suggest if going with VIP Cabinet is ok as its fairly cheaper (Just Rs. 900) as compared to Cooler Master one (Rs. 2600)

Don't buy this RAM. Its speed is ok but its CL value is 11. Search for RAM with 1600MHz speed and CL of 9 or less.

Better change the PSU to Seasonic/XFX series.

Can you tell me any specific build/model?
For products available in India we have three major ecommerce sites, Flipkart, Amazon and SnapDeal
The one that I have chosen as of now costs Rs. Rs. 2,995.00 on Flipkart if anything around same price that you could suggest..

Thanks

Check theitdepot.com as well. They have good components there.

I had a look at that, but not sure of the reliability of their products. Have seen some negative reviews about them on the internet and also not many people have shared their experience of shopping at itdepot which makes me think that people probably don't shop much at itdepot.com. Also this thread here: http://www.digit.in/forum/qna-read-only/59576-www-theit... adds to the negative side of itdepot.com

Hence in all, just to save a couple hundred bucks, not willing to go with itdepot.com

Thanks for your suggestion though, really appreciate it. If possible please also address my concerns regarding VIP cabinet as its fairly cheaper as compared to Cooler Master Elite 344

VIP series is ok. Stick with their gaming cabinet.

What is your budget for PSU along with flexibility.

All set for you except that I really can't understand the logic of not having HDD.

Alright, great.

For not buying a HDD, my explanation is that I have enough hard disk space, by that I mean I have a 2 TB External Western Digital Hard Disk and a 500 GB External Transcend Hard Disk, hence I am not really behind getting more space for my data instead I want to invest in SSD 120GB for a change (I have never worked with SSDs in the past) however I am on a tight budget at the moment so planning to start on with my external Transcend 500 GB which already has Ubuntu Installed on it (I have tested it with my existing laptop and my laptop boots very well when I select USB Storage Drive on the boot devices list at boot time)

Thanks
