Hello, as said im looking to upgrade fron a gtx 760, I only game in 1080p at the moment on a tv but would like a futureproof card for if i decide to go 1440 in the future.

The two cards in looking at are:

A custom made watercooled Gtx 780Ti

Radeon 295 X2 ( also watercooled)

im looking for the best bang for my buck, I can afford either one, with the 780ti being £675 and the radeon £700, im an NVIDIA fanboy but im not really that bothered on which make I buy, the radeon has a combined memory of 8gb but the Ti obviously has physx so im somewhat stuck.

any help is much appreciated

many thanks

Wait for the GTX 980, it'll be more than enough for gaming at 1440p at high frame rates. :)

It is expected to be announced on 18-Sep. So if you can't wait for that much then grab EVGA GTX 780 Ti Hydro Classified.

If you really want to upgrade the 295X2 is better than the 780ti and is closer to two 780ti's in SLI, although I would wait as at 1080p there's not going to be a great deal of improvement over a 760.

To have game play at 1080p or even at 1440p in the future, R9 295X2 would be overkill.

I agree, I was just noting the difference in performance of the two cards and that they aren't really in the same graphics tier. The 780ti is on the same level as an R9 290x.

The 780ti is better than the 290X, but yeah performance is quite similar.
