I seem to have inserted the new fan i bought for my rig wrongly. I was only on a few seconds as i was just trying it out.
This was enough for smoke, and a very small fire. I was lucky that the damage was directed to the fan module up top. I have a Nzxt mid tower which has a fan control module which powers most of the.
So i rerouted nearly all the fans expect two which i had no more cabling these too are still connected to the damaged module. All seem to work correctly iv had my pc on for more than 24hrs no bugs. The only thing is that from the two which are connected to the module one flashes for time to time.( The module has a light for each fan). The other is fine.

Now my question is can i still use it or am i potentially hurting the rig at the moment? Should i buy the case again and just strip the module? At first it smelt of burnt plastic but now its seems to have cooled down.

Help please im scared.

If the module burst into flames then I would remove it at once. if the other two fans don't reach, then leave then disconnected until you can get a new model or a molex adapter to power the fans. you shouldn't need to buy a new case as the problem seems like it was isolated to the Fan control module.
