Earlier in the year my comcast technician installed everything and all seemed to be well. Eventually some months later my online experience became rife with issues. The internet became extremely sluggish and nonresponsive and I would get dropped for seemingly no reason. On the taskbar the icon that shows my connection would often have a yellow exclamation point saying 'limited connectivity' when I scrolled over it. Sometimes that wouldn't be there and I would have the 5 white bars of a seemingly excellent connection but when I clicked on it and it showed the other available wifi connections in my area it would say 'no internet access' under mine.

I did some tests and concluded that my router was the issue, not the modem, so a week or so ago I bought a brand new router, and a pretty good one at that. Everything worked smoothly after installation but today I'm starting to experience the exact same problems my old Linksys router had, and I'm using a Netgear router this time. If my modem's connection to the internet is perfect what could possible cause two different routers to have connection problems? Keep in mind my signal with both routers was excellent, so it had nothing to do with that.

Any ideas on where to start with diagnosing this problem? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I would point he finger at the modem or connection back to the ISP.

If you can connect to the routers config page or any other pc on the network if they have a share, normally proves your end ok.
