Hi, I have built a PC before but I've never had to pick parts for one.

Looking to build a budget gaming PC for games like F1 2014/15, FIFA 15, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and potentially Battlefield 4. Looking to play at decent settings, but being totally new to PC games don't really know what is considered decent, I imagine equal to or slightly better than consoles!

I have a list of parts in mind as was wondering A.) Are all these parts compatible and B.) Am I getting good value for money.

CPU: AMD FX 6300 @ 3.5Ghz £78.99
GPU: MSI R7 260X 2GB £88.12
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 £51.06
RAM: 1x 4GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Tactical £34.98
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB £38.34
PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ £31.55
Optical Drive: Lite On IHAS122 £10.98

Haven't yet decided on a case or OS, so any recommendations would be helpful :)

That's one of the cutest builds I've seen in recent years when everyone is running for bleeding edge high end overpriced stuff. Excellent build. For gaming and regular work that is. Just saying, you could get another 4GB RAM stick and pull that 260X to R9 290. And it'd be a match made in heaven.

You can use the Deep Cool MiniATX case if it's available on the continent or UK. And as for OS, stick with Windows 8/8.1 (it'd benefit from the huge no. of cores your CPU has, due to better multithreading optimisation)

Kept it under £500,-.
Also because of the o.s i chose.Normally i also would say take 8(.1),but this saves some money.

Or go intel,

a little cheaper.

+1, this is a pretty good build for the price.
