So I really like my laptop, but there's one problem. Either I can choose to turn the fan up all the way ( cools really well but is VERY loud ), or I can choose to not touch it, and even though it will start spinning more it can bring GPU temps up to 80-90, while with my turbo fan enabled they don't hit 60.

I'd like to choose a fan profile so that my card won't go over 75C while playing DS 2, but I can't seem to change it through MSI afterburner. Any tips?

Try SpeedFan and manually set the speed to 75-80%, if they seem loud, drop the %age until you feel ok, don't forget to monitor the temps so that it doesn't get too hot.

It doesn't seem to detect any fans when I go to the configure settings. Maybe it's bios locked or something?

In the bottom right corner of the main interface in MSI Afterburner (not the temp gauges) click 'Settings'. Then choose the second tab 'Fan'. Check the box marked 'Enable user defined software automatic fan control'. Set a temp/speed curve to your liking. Click 'OK'. Done!

Yeah, thanks for the reply, but I simply don't have a fan tab. And switching any of the settings doesn't seem to help at all. I've had the same problems with other programs like speedfan.

I'm afraid the speeds are locked/ auto-adjusted (with 2 modes available as you mentioned) by the BIOS. You may be out of luck here, as I can't recommend MoBo tweaking on a lappy w/ no garuantee of a positive outcome.
