My PC only starts with no GPU in it.

Someone spilled soup on my GPU and roughly 1.5 days later it shutoff automatically.

My PC will start without the GPU.

I cleaned the GPU circuit board but while cleaning found some 'burnt' soup on some hot spots, brushed them off, put my GPU back in and my PC still won't turn on.

Any suggestions besides RMA?

Unfortunately your diagnosis has led you to your answer. Your GPU is fried. RMA is your best bet.

I own a modular power supply so I replaced the VGA cords goign from the PSU to the GPU and something different happened... Now my PC will boot past BIOS but not into Win 8.1, does this change anything?

I changed the VGA cord going from my PSU to my GPU and something changed.

My PC will boot past BIOS and start loading Win 8.1 but will not load past the loading screen and the screen goes black but the PC does not shut off. Does this turn the tables at all?

no it not going into windows simply means something is wrong.. its definitely pointing towards the faulty gpu.

Do you have onboard video on your board so that you can confirm you can get all the way into Windows without the GPU?

Yes, I'm using atm off of onboard graphics.

Reporting back after a few days. This was NOT the solution (nor did I pick it as), I got a new GPU and the problem persists.

the gpu that soup was spilled on probably damaged the pci e slot causing the replacement card not to work.. try the new card on another machine then try the old card on that as well to see if its a damaged pci e slot problem.

Ok, I'll try this. But would it effect all three pci-e slots?

I'm sorry I'm not going to say anything constructive but this is one of the funniest things I've read on this forums.

How can someone spill soup on your GPU? I mean... soup... on a GPU....

The only way I can imagine this happening is if your PC case side panel was removed, your PC was lying on its side and someone holding a bowl of soup in his hands decided to lean in to take a look at your PC insides and then spilled the soup?

That whole situation seems worthy of http://www.youtube.com/user/failarmy but I guess you didn't film it.

It's very straightforward. PC has vents at the top, someone put soup on the top, soup spills in. GPU's are put in sideways with the important part of the GPU facing up, gravity assisted the soup.

there is a chance the bad card could damage even the motherboard itself rather than just the pci e slot so i suggest you use a old motherboard you dont need if you have on that is.. i would not recommend using a new board or board that is being used by anyone.. use something that wont hurt you if it gets damaged.. a bad card can really do a number on the motherboard ,trust me i learned the hard way ... lol

Have you tried it on other PCIE slots, kaio? Just curious, even though I'm imagining your answer is probably yes. If you are able to boot up using the onboard, but not the dedicated card, and the replacement card is also not working, then it sounds like a bad PCIE port. (Although, the fact it displays the BIOS/etc. and doesn't let you boot into windows is weird to say the least.)

Have you tried setting your BIOS to default settings and then reconfiguring the proper boot drives? We had a power outage at my apartment and it reset my roommate's BIOS. He couldn't boot into Windows because his BIOS reset his hard drive settings to IDE from AHCI. Make sure all your BIOs settings are right.
