Okay, here's what happened.

Two weeks ago, I got a new processor for my comp (i5-2500). When I put it in my comp, my video card (GTX 650 Ti Boost) stopped working on me completely. I didn't have another comp to put the card into to test the card, so I put in an old video card and my comp worked fine. I then did another test. I took out my i5-2500 CPU and put back my prior CPU into my comp, along with the GTX 650 Ti Boost. The GTX 650 Ti Boost still didn't work. So I figured my GTX 650 Ti Boost was dead, right?

So I sent my GTX 650 Ti Boost to Gigabyte (its manufacturer) for repair. Today I got an e-mail saying that they tested it extensively, and that the video card was working fine! They are shipping it back to me today.

I'm so confused! What's going on?

Thanks for any help!

that looks to be a micro atx board. you can get any old stock h67 or z68 board. a p67 board will work, but it disables the igpu on the i5-2500.... thus meaning "if" you wanted to run a monitor without a graphics card, you cant :( the h67 or z68 board will allow access to the igpu and also allow to you run a discrete card too. look on ebay for sandy bridge motherboards.

that said, i ran a quick search for the MB.GCC0P.001 hp model board on ebay, there are 5 and they are considerably cheaper than the one you linked from amazon.

copy and paste the link above. look for the ones with...

I would check the auxiliary power cables running from PSU, perhaps they have been disturbed.

Failing that try running your system with only the bare essential devices to eliminate the possibility of power shortage.

Another thing might be to swap out the auxiliary GPU power cable, perhaps the socket terminal has deteriorated.

That's all I can think of. Strange issue.

That should be more than enough watts for your system. What is your previous CPU and what is your MOBO? Also, reset any overclocking for any parts.

Is it possible that when I put the card back into my comp it could "magically" start working again for no reason? I know that's a strange thing to say, but weird stuff happens all the time in the computer hardware world lol.

My previous CPU was an i3-2100 and my mobo is a Gateway DX4860. I had never overlocked anything.

Lol, nothing ventured - nothing gained.

Have you another PCIE slot to try the card in ?

Unfortunately there's one PCI-E slot in my comp. :/

Welp, turns out it's my mobo. I got my card back yesterday. It didn't work. I then tried putting the card into a friend's comp and it works fine. Also, I put his card into my comp and my mobo didn't detect it. I'm gonna have to get a new mobo. Since my motherboard is a Gateway DX4860-UB20P, would this one be an exact replacement that would fit perfectly in my Gateway tower?

Oh my God, you're a lifesaver! And since those five you listed are all DX4860 mobos, you think that once I get one, and put it in my comp, I won't have to reinstall Windows 7?
