First time building PC, how to install OS?

OK, so like I said, it's gonna be my first time building a desktop PC, so I wanted to know, will I need a CD drive to install the OS? (Windows 8.1) And If I do, then which CD drive would fit in this case? or would I need it to be external? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/silverstone-case-tj08be

you wanna look for 3,5 diameter internal read/wright cd/dvd or blue-ray .2,5 diameter is for laptops.

Case is good, if you have another rig or check with a friend, can borrow a CD player for the installation or on another rig, put your install DVD to a USB drive and install from it
