When I boot I hit F10 to go into BIOS set-up the machine just hangs there. The PC has been having v frequent hang ups booting. Restarting immediately causes it to hang. Leaving a USB or device pluuged in that's not normally there causes it to hang while booting. Very often won't boot from Win7 install DVD.
System = 2008 HP Pavillion BIOS v5.43 Win7 Home Prem SP1. 2 internal HDD installed. Have updated all drivers, BIOS, reinstalled Windows. Was trying to get into set up to check boot order is OK.Thanks for any advice, Curly

Solution
reset your cmos. to reset the cmos simply remove the small battery from the motherboard and leave it for 10 sec and then put it right back in the battery slot

Hold down the F10 key then hit power while still holding the F10.

Thanks for the reply. However, the problem wasn't getting F10 recognised in the first place, it's hanging thereafter. I get the message "Entering Setup..." in the BIOS screen, then the machine just hangs there. The question is how do I stop it hanging at that point, and get it to open Setup?
