Hey hopefully someone on here can help me out with this problem! So I can run games smoothly with great fps on intel hd 4600, but every now and then, the game I will be playing will stutter and freeze/drop to really low fps and skip around. After about 10 seconds it returns to normal. This is really annoying considering it always happens at key moments when i'm playing :(  Here's my specs

i7-4700mq @ 2.4ghz
12 gb ram

Monitor your temperatures.

Sudden, pronounced,Intermittent performance loss for a few seconds to a few minutes(depending on cooling/environment) is almost always Thermal Throttling.

Since your laptop is using the Intel "Integrated" gpu, your CPU is doing ALL the work. So it gets too hot while playing games due to the stress Rendering real-time 3D applications causes, so instead of keeping up its work and eventually frying,it downclocks its cores. In this case its called "Thermal Throttling". Less speed=less performance but also less heat.

Then it cools and kicks back up to full speed, only to repeat.

TLDR; time to get a cooling pad for your laptop or take it apart and clean it if you know how, send it to a shop if not and tell them its getting too hot(Im almost certain)

Edit; CPUZ is decent for monitoring temperatures with a little logging,Piriform Speccy doesnt generate logs but it will tell you more temperatures than CPU-Z. Use either.
