To add a little to Eduello: R9 290X is quicker, and can be found in the UK under budget, but it's not worth the extra cash for the small performance increase over the non 'X' version, at least in my opinion.
Some of the AMD cards are very large, make sure one will fit your system case!

Definitely go with the MSI R9 290X Gaming http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HQJBWIM. It's definitely the fastest card in that price range.
