Opinion on Graphics card choice

I was recently on ebay looking at GPU's and noticed i could get a Gigabyte 280x for under $200. would it be a better option to go with it or spend $70 more on a reference 290

I will be running on a 1080p monitor with a FX - 8320 CPU. Noise doesn't factor into my decision here. just proper cooling and gaming performance
