Is AMD FX-6300 with M5A 78L-M LX PLUS compatible with G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3

Hi i was just wondering if these parts were compatible. I have an AMD FX-6300 black edition 3.5 ghz, and an M5A 78L-M LX PLUS mobo.

    That RAM would work just fine in your motherboard. Nice choice on the Ripjaws X by the way :)
    Note that it will only run at 1333 without an OC ;)

  3. Also, are you running a 64 bit version of Windows? Otherwise you won't get the full benefit.
  4. If you can afford it, the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 would be a better option. Newer chipset, which means it'll support 1600MHz straight out of the box, along with having some USB3 ports (among other goodies).

    does this mean I'll have to do anything to my current mobo to be able to run the ripjaws?
  7. No it'll run, albeit a bit slower (though not much a drama, really), unless of course you go into the BIOS and manually overclock it.
