Hey guys I hope I can explain with well enough to get my question out.
I am still looking for case fans for my Bitfenix Shinobi case,
I have -
- i5 4690k OC 4.2ghz on a Alpenföhn Brocken CPU Cooler
- r9 290 vapor-x OC 1180 core 1425 memory
I run the computer with the side panel off right now until I can get some decent fans
My question is, every thread I look at people are reccomending Noctua fans. Would I be better off buying a Noctua cpu cooler before buying Noctua fans for intake/exhaust? Then buying something else for the actual case fans? Like 5 Cougar CF-V12Hs?
I dont plan on overclocking my CPU any more over 4.2 so is a Noctua cooler a waste of money?
Some of the case fans I am looking at right now are-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0050TRLGW/ref=ox_sc...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00650P2ZC/ref=ox_sc...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003S4XOB2/ref=ox_sc...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000W7NGRA/ref=ox_sc...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008K6CRDE/ref=ox_sc...
And the Noctua CPU cooling I am asking about is -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002VKVZ1A/ref=ox_sc...
Thanks guys, I hope I explained it well. Sorry for my english!

I love the Noctua Fans , I have 5 in my current build , I don't care what they look like , the performance is what counts.I agree. Performance is top priority. Just don't know if I should splash out on everything Noctua (cooler and 2 fans + 5 Noctua NF-F12PWMs) or get something cheaper

If you're only doing a mild OC and you're happy with your AB cooler, I'd just keep it. Like SR-71, all of my case fans are Noctuas and they're excellent. If you install Noctua case fans though, it might not be too long before you decide your AB is too loud
Haha this is the problem I face! I'm temped just to get the full lot and be done with it

I'm the opposite!
Well, in some cases anyway. If I have a case without windows, then noctua all the way. They are the best. But if I have a case with windows, I just can't do it. They're just too damn ugly. I'll sacrifice the minimal performance loss if I get for example Corsair AFs or SPs just to have it look good.
Man I wish Noctua would come up with better colours. Mind you, there are the more bearable Noctua Industrial PPC Fans. Not as bad.

I looked at getting the AF120s but could only find the quiet editions. I can get the sp120s in performance but they aren't going to be the best intake/exhaust fans for airflow so I don't know
Wow just saw your pics pop up after I replied. Those are nice looking Notuas!

Noctua ruled the cooler world for years and really could have become much more dominant if the fans weren't so fugly..... as was said above, I go for performance rather than beauty and I installed a lot of DH-14's. But then came the new boy on the block and he just kicked tail
The Noctua DH14 Cooler comes in a bit behind the Phanteks and it's mainly due to the fans:

As for the fans alone .... they are compared well here.... Noctua spins 300 rpm faster but comes up 3C sort of the Phanteks fans on the same cooler
http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/phenteks_f140/3...
Finally in spcr's testing, Phanteks again rules the roost
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1345-page7.html
-So the Phanteks tops the Noctua DH-14 thermally ....
-The Phanteks is $60 or $65 on newegg, DH-14 was $75 at last check (newegg site inaccessible again)
-The Phanteks comes in Blue, Black, White, Red to match your build colors
So it's a 3 way sweep.....on the other hand, it runs a bit more on your side of the pond.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-ali...
The DH-15 however has arrived .... well kinda ....and if ya willing to spend another $30 and wait a bit or so, grab that as it edges out the Phanteks
The fans too are available in various LED colors. White blue red and orange

Good post, thanks
it is only slightly more expensive than the Noctua cooler so it's also an option-
