Good idea to upgrade old PC's graphics card?

My brother recently passed down his desktop to me (HP Pavilion HPE-240f) and it's a pretty decent desktop with the exception of the crappy graphics card.

Specs are:
Intel i5 650 3.20 ghz
8gb ddr3 ram
Windows 7 64bit
ATI Radeon HD 5570
MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)

Was just wondering if it's a good investment to upgrade this relatively old PC although it's not too bad though.

Graphics cards I'm considering: Radeon 7770, R7 260X, and the GTX 750Ti. My budget is preferably around the $100 range and I'm leaning towards NVIDIA cards solely for ShadowPlay.

I want to be able to play most games on at least medium (with the exception of those extremely demanding games like Witcher and Metro) and a 1080p resolution. Right now I'm looking at Dark Souls II and I highly doubt I'll be able to play that right now with even a 1366x768 resolution + low settings which is a shame.

I might have to in the near future. I believe it's been 4+ years already since we've had this PC.
