I recently built a new system and it worked fine for the first couple of weeks but the past couple of days the audio has been weird. When I use my headphones to play minecraft I get a weird buzzing sound but I can do anything else without this noise. Is this my system or my headphones and what could I do to fix it. Also I have my monitor plugged into my graphics card and and the audio is fine on that when I run it through.

Solution
You may be picking up noise when the power supply load changes.

In some systems you can just ensure other devices like mic/line-in are muted under the playback tab.

You could try to frame cap the game to see if it is any better. Switching power supplies are noisy things and board design has to be carefully done to deal with this.

A sound card(internal or external) may cure the issue because they tend to have extra filtering onboard.

Your monitor can get a digital signal and use its own digital to analog converter. Since that seems to work, it may be a good option for the time being.

Do you have the headphones plugged into the front audio panel, or directly into the soundcard? The connection from soundcard to front panel can often be dodgy, and things like vibrations (say from your graphics card when the fan is going flat out) can cause interference when using the front panel.

I just frame capped the game and that seemed to do the trick.
