Do I need to switch back to UEFI if I changed to Legacy mode?

Hi everyone,

so I just got a new SSD for my new laptop and so the only way for me to install it is from a bootable USB drive of Windows that I have saved.

For me to use that USB, I had to go in BIOS and switch it to Legacy Mode (it was originally on UEFI with the original hard drive that came with the laptop) then after that, I can access the boot menu and boot from the USB drive.

Once everything is installed, I believe everything is working but it is still legacy mode in BIOS, is this a big deal? Will being in legacy mode while using a SSD lower its performance causing slower than advertised load times and speeds?

Also just a note my laptop does not have a CD/DVD drive. Not sure if this matters for installation purposes.

Thanks , I just ask to make sure because another laptop of mine, I installed a Crucial MX100 in it and ran the AS SSD benchmark test and the speeds were not even close to what was advertised, rather it was running like around SATA2 speeds and since I installed Windows 8 on that with legacy mode, I thought that was the case.

Maybe that laptop just only went as high as SATA2.
