Hey guys,

I'm looking for a definitive answer for my PSU regarding my build below. Thanks!

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930k @4.5GHz (hopefully anyway) 6-core
COOLER: Corsair Hydro H100i Extreme
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4
RAM: 4x 4GB DDR4 G-Skill Ripjaws @3200MHz
GPU: 4GB Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Vapor X Tri X ($642 model on amazon)
HDD(s): 2x 2TB Seagate Hybrid SATA III 6Gb/s q/ 7.8GB NAND Flash Cache and 64MB HDD Cache
OPTICAL: ASUS BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS 12X Blu-ray Internal Burner Drive with Disc Encryption
CASE: Antec 1200 V3 Black Steel ATX Full Tower
----case comes with 2x 120mm TriCool blue LED Rear Fan 3x 120mm blue LED Front Fan, 1x 200mm Big Boy 200 blue LED Top Fan
PERIPHERALS: Razer Anansi keyboard, Logitech G700s mouse, Logitech Z313 Speakers

PSU: Corsair Professional Series AX860i 80+ PLATINUM 860W
or perhaps the Corsair RM1000? I also heard the RM series had cheap capacitors or whatever.

PC Partpicker says the total watts are under 579W, I'm not sure if my GPU requires another 250W of PSU headroom. I read that somewhere, but also I chose a pro-PSU which may factor in. I dunno, that's why I'm asking!

I'd really like to know more about the Corsair link too. It's one of the big pushes for getting the " i " versions of their PSU's.

Solution
The AX860i will be more than enough and is much better than the RM. The 650w and under RM's are alright, but the higher wattage ones have cheap capacitors. You could go for an EVGA G2 which is considerably cheaper and a very good PSU.
