Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Update Problems

I have finally found and downloaded the correct update for my motherboard, I go into the BIOS Utility and go to update the Bios version and it says that the file was not a EFI BIOS. I downloaded the file right from the ASUS webpage http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=M5A97%20LE%20R2.0&p=1&s=24&os=30&hashedid=j02VBoX5bQJxJu1B. and downloaded the newest version 2501 in the BIOS drop down, then unzipped it, and it pulls up in the files for the update. but says that it isn't an EFI BIOS, sorry for repeating.

What issues are you trying to resolve by updating the BIOS? BIOS flashes are finicky at best, so unless you absolutely know it's an issue fixed in the update, you're playing with fire. Just curious, since I run the same mobo and haven't had any sort of issues with it.
