Worth putting this power supply in?

So I've been looking into getting a new power supply so I could push this system I've got a little further than it's currently at. Mainly I've been looking towards getting an EVGA Supernova G2 1000w as it is only 30 dollars more than the 850w variant and would be useful if eventually I decide to SLI at some point. Looking for some feedback on this just to be sure it's worth buying one of these for my system.

Current rig:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3
CPU: i7-3820 @ 4.4 GHz (hoping to achieve 4.5-4.6 GHz, cannot on current PSU)
CPU Cooling: Corsair H60 Liquid Cooling
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 Superclocked ACX Cooler
RAM: 16 GB V-color 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM
PSU: Corsair TX750 V1
System Cooling: 4 high performance 120 mm fans, 2 general 120 mm fans.
HDDs: Seagate Barricuda 2 TB 7200 RPM, WD Velociraptor 140 GB 10000 RPM

For a system using two GeForce GTX 760 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 700 Watt or greater system power supply.
Though i'd get a 850w Corsair, which should be enough headroom for SLI the 760's and OC the CPU.

Hi - Upgrade your PSU if you wish to keep all things newer & current. However, a more powerful
PSU than your current TX750 will not increase the performance of your system with either 1 or 2
gtx 760's, as the TX750 has enough power already for a sys with 2 gtx 760's.

The chief benefit to adding a more powerful PSU is that it won't have to "work as hard" and
therefore will run cooler and quieter as the fan won't have tu run as much.

My system as it is with the current power supply is completely incapable of running SLI GTX 760s and also incapable of running an overclock of over 4.4 GHz. The TX750 V1 is considered to be terrible due to its bad make, even for its time of release. My computer measures around 680-700 watts used at about 90% load, which is often the load it is under as I am almost always in a high requirements game of some sorts and sometimes it even reaches 100% load, so to get any more performance out of it, I would expect to have to upgrade the PSU.

Hi again - The TX series were not bad make PSU's, the only questionable ones were the V2,
OEM'd by Chicony. The others mfg by Seasoninc and CWT were good to very good units.
If you list the model # I can tell you which.

Tell me what you are using to measure the load, because the components you list above
don't draw anywhere near 680w, if you add them up separately, at full load they are less than
500w, approx 483w with the 6 fans.

Maybe your PSU has deteriorated or has blown a capacitor, and as I said above, if you feel you need to upgrade,
you should do so anyway, but not because 750w is not enough, because it is.

There is no harm to using a PSU with more power than you need other than to your wallet in upfront cost.
