I am going to start looking for good deals next month in order to purchase a new laptop. I want something similiar to the Asus G550 or Lenovo Y500. Something up to $1200. I don't need absolute top of the line amazing specs. I won't be hooking it up to a monitor (although having that option is always nice) and I dont really need anything over 3 hours of battery because 98% of my classrooms have power outlets.
So my question is, since the focus of Broadwell is power efficiency, is it worth the wait for me considering I won't be making use of it? My current one is past its time and overheats like crazy. Cooling is actually a pretty big factor for me which I know Broadwell M series will help with a lot but I am not sure about the i5/i7.
I am assuming here that I won't be able to purchase a Broadwell based laptop until Early 2015 which is too long of a wait unless Broadwell will bring significant advantages for me.
P.S. Aside from Uni related work I play League of Legends and WoW alot.
Edit : Fixed mistake
