Will 3GB VRAM be enough?

So, I've been hunting for a graphics card to suit my needs. I'm building a computer, and I'm up to the part where I'm choosing a graphics card. I wish to run the Nextgen games such as Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, etc. I would prefer to run on max settings, for the best experience possible.

Currently I'm sticking with the Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 3GB. But will 3GB of VRAM be enough? I expect to run on a maximum of 3 monitors in the future, and I would prefer to be able to run a few games at once (e.g: Assassin's Creed Unity and Team Fortress 2). I may also use a screen capture software (Camtasia Studio) while I'm at it.

Will this work?

Well, the newer Maxwell GTX 880, rumored to be around the same price, is rumored to be releasing this month.

The paper launch is rumored to be this month, not the actual launch. As far as I know anyway. I don't see them just dropping a card out of thin air with zero details, but it wouldn't be the first time. I'm going to kick myself if it does, because I'm gonna HAVE to buy two of them because I can't sleep at night knowing I'm not in next-gen.

As an answer to your question, unless you're gaming on 4+ monitors at 1440p+ in demanding games I don't see it being an issue. Unless you're trying to play Crysis 3 on 3 1440p monitors connected to one card, then yeah, it won't be enough. Unless you feel like waiting the R9 290/R9 290x (4GB) or the Titan (6GB) is as good as it's gonna get.

Or you could, you know, get a laptop and game with a GTX 880M. Friggin' 8GB's of vRAM and it isn't even as strong as a 780. Guess it's for noob buyers who think VRAM is more power.

3 monitors at what resolution? do you plan on using AA? some people never use it, others, like me, can't live without it. how is anyone supposed to answer an unfinished question?

One card on a three monitor setup isn't even ideal anyway. The BEST case scenario for that is 3-way SLI with a monitor connected to each card. But most can't afford that.

this is the sort of advise you should stay away from. i had a 3x 1080p monitor set up running on only 2 GTX 780 cards in SLI. Metro 2033, one of the most nvidia unfriendly games ever, was getting 60 FPS on average. thats on DX 11, AA enables, AF enabled, very high quality mode.

where are you coming from with this "3-way sli" stuff? that's overkill and there is no reason to do it unless you are planning to burn $1500+ on a set of three 2560x1440 1ms monitors.

PS, come to think of it, you can probably get away with just two GTX 780 cards powering a set of three 2560x1440 monitors just fine. all that you will need to do it disable AA and AF. with resolutions THAT high you won't see any jagged edges anyway.

That's no overkill, that's perfect stability. I never said it was needed, I said it was best case scenario. Learn to read before you pick at me rudely, ass.

Just an edit: I think I will play on just one monitor for the game, and another for google chrome or something.
