Hi there and thanks for taking the time to read this.

My Intel I5-4670k is idling at 44 degrees. And gets up to 85 degrees within 20 seconds of running prime. 68 degrees while playing league of legends.

I've changed my fan set up. Checked bios settings. Checked operation of h100i pump. Checked cpu back plate is fitted correctly. Cleaned and remounted my water block.

I'm at a loss as to what the problem could be

This occurred In the last 2 weeks. Rig had been running since early June.

Thanks for your time.

Are you measuring this with your mobo UEFI?

Is it overclocked?

What's Vcore?

What rpm is the H100i pump and fans running at? Corsair link working properly?

Not over clocked. Sitting at 3.4ghz

Measured with cpuid. Gets upto 65 degrees while sitting at the bios menu.

Fans running at full rpm. Same with pump. Pump running about 2200. I disconnected the fans to check I was getting flow, the temp rose very quickly.

Is there liquid on the H100i? Vcore? Is the 65C from your UEFI?

If so, re-seat it on the cpu with a new drop of thermal paste.

Vcore is 1.047

H100 has liquid flow. No leaks.

Yes temp is through uefi.

I've remounted the block with artic silver twice already and it's not made any change.

I believe something is wrong with the water cooler. Can you try to put your stock cpu cooler you got with cpu see what the temps would be with it ?

I'll give the stock cooler a go. At work right now but I'll do it as soon as possible.

Sure, post the temperatures then once you install it and give it a try. We'll go with elimination...

Just thought I would add that the h100i flow tube is very hot and the return to the block is cool. Quite a big temp difference to the touch. Seems odd.

Like I said, cpu cooler is probably malfunctioning somewhere.. Maybe something is stuck inside the tube or whatever... I would worry that it doesn't break and the liquid spills on my components... Put regular stock cpu cooler asap and see the temps, if they are fine with it RMA h100i

Yeah - sounds like a blockage, RMA it. Use your stock cooler till you get a replacement.

Ok. Swapped out the h100i for the stock cooler and im now idling at 33 degrees. So it was the cooler. Organised it with amazon and they have given me a full refund.

Thanks so much for your help guys. Really appreciate it
