Memory displayed for Radeon HD 4770 appears to be incorrect

I have a Radeon HD 4770. As far as I'm aware this has 512 MB of memory. However, when I run dxdiag, it shows it as having 1913 MB. Is there a problem here or is there something I do not understand?

What you see is 512MB onboard memory plus 1,5GB so called hyper memory. That's part of the main ram, that is used for the graphics if needed. Tools like GPU-Z can sort that out.
