Hey Guys,

after getting into a rush of buying alot of cheap hardware on the net I upgraded my system to:

r9 280x CF loaded 75°
14.7 Catalyst beta driver & 14.4 Catalyst driver
both cards run on 8x PCI Slots

i52500k 4.5Ghz OC loaded 65°

850W XFX Core Edition

In Game with 1080p and Ultra settings I get framedrops from 140 fps to 30 fps with a CPU usage of 80-100%.
-Mantle and DirectX shifts don’t work
-deactivation of CF leads to a similar setup at 70fps and accordingly lower CPU usage
-No success using RadeonPro with dynamic frame rate set to ~60 fps, usage of Dynamic Vsync control

I Know bf4 is CPU intensive but is it the 4 core 2500k bottlenecking?

When your cpu is at 100% usage does your gpu usage drop too? under 98%.

If it does it means you have a cpu bottleneck, Although for me with an i5-3570 I get fps drops even though there is no bottlenecks, from 90fps to 40fps throughout the game.

I presume you are using a single 1080 monitor. You should not be getting any frame drops like that and your CPU should not be at 100% playing that game.
Even on 3 monitors, ultra settings, my I5 was only 50-60% and my Xeon is around 30-40%.

So as your hardware is capable, it's not a simple answer, something else is going on.

Can you check what processes are using the CPU when it jumps to 100%? How much RAM do you have?

Yeah, i am running a 60hz 24" 1080p monitor / 8GB RAM
-> tried countless fixes using RAMMAP etc

After checking out the game at my roommates new i7 2700k / 120hz screen showed the need for 8 cores in BF4.

The CPU is definitely limiting my setup, random CPU spikes even during fps cap make the game stutter under 60-70% CPU usage at 60fps.

I am intending right now buying a new i7 3770k & 120hz screen to get rid of this annoying problem...
