Hello!
Im building a new rig, but i have some trouble choosing a aftermarket cooler because the Hyper 212 Evo doesn't fit in my case :pfff:

The motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 (Socket AM3+)
CPU: FX-6300 3.5ghz (that i consider overclocking up 4.0 ghz)
The case height (from the cpu) is about 15 cm (about 5.9 inches)

The max i can spend is 30$ .

Or do you think that is better spending those 30 dollars on a FX-8320 and use a stock cooler without overclocking?
P.S: I will use my pc mainly for gaming.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

used this on a fx6100 and did fine -- uses the same latching method as the stock cooler so theres no disassembly of the board to install also cleared all memory slots with ripjawsx on a asus board

Thank you for the fast answer!
What were the temps? And was the cpu overclocked?

Thanks!

I already moved the cooler to this i5 and to be honest I install thing set it up as I want check things over and forget if no issues show up

all I can say is it did fine with amd and now its on a intel and seems to still be just fine

the one reason I tried it was it had the same lach set up as the amd stock cooler so it was just set it on and latch it down

I used it for 3 years on the 6100 and had no issues with it and fooled around with oc but I did not stress it to the max or nothing like that to cause heat issue

sorry I can be more help on that

that's all you can do and it comes down to personal preference one thing to look at is will it clear all the memory slots with tall heatsinks some coolers can rob you from the slot closest to the cpu and may not allow a memory stick it be installed in it

Yeah, you're right but i won't be using all the 4 slots. Thanks for the advice!

look them over and see what meets your needs I like to start with the most reviews as those most likely sell the most to be used and start weeding them down to what fits your needs

no prob--- theres so many to choose from its just what you think will do you the best and fit with out interfering with board or case space and meet your cooling expectations
