Hello all
Is it OK to replace my Radeon HD 4850 card to a Radeon HD 5450. I have a Gateway FX 6710 running Win 7 64bit with 8 gig of ram. I think my 4850 was running too hot so now when coming back on after it times out to turn off. it will come back on for a second and then go blank. Even starting up in the morning the monitor may not come on, I usually need to tap the F8 key to get to Safe mode startup menu and then enter start normally

Thanks

Tom

The HD 5450 will run fine in that PC rig, so you shouldn't experience problems.

For future reference, I'd recommend installing GPU-Z or MSI-Afterburner to allow you to monitor GPU temperatures. Anything over 70°c is cause for concern, anything over 80°c could potentially impact the lifespan of the Graphics Card.
