Hi Guys

I recently had a PSU failure a corsair TX850. System crashed during a game, pungent broken component smell. System reported a surge was the reason of the power down. I quickly removed the PSU and sent it off to Corsair under warranty, to their credit they sent me a brand new RM850. After fitting everything was fine, no issues.

Today I decided to play games again, the video card is an Asus GTX770. So Tried one game crashed 10 seconds into playing, drops the game to the desktop with a driver failure. tried three more times same thing. Tried another game same issue. Downloaded 3D Mark same issue.

Uninstalled, re-installed driver same issue. Booted up a month old image of my system on a secondary drive I haven't wiped yet. Same issue.

Decided to run two separate cables to the video card. Same issue.

I'm at a loss of what to do, not sure whether to point the finger at Corsair or just send the video card to Asus. But I'm secretly worried there may be other issues.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Very possible something on the card has blown due to the power surge.

The best test you can do is try the card in a different machine to see if it demonstrates the same symptoms.

The TX850 is better than the RM850.

Thanks for the replies guys

Looks like they weren't doing me any favors then SR-71. I don't know anyone that has a system I can test it in. I'll have to ask around a bit.
