x-99 board just installed, i7 5930k.
Everything booted fine, installed windows, was going through the standard updates.
Tried the bios flashback port on the back with the new bios version.
booted, said updating bios, then restarted, stayed black screen.
CPU fans are not running, and the qcode reads 61.
tried flashing again, tried flashing with the original bios. cleared cmos with button.

still nothing, its starts turns off and restarts and stays at qcode 61.

Anyhelp?

from the manual qcode 61 is "NVRAM initialization". Perhaps one of your ram sticks is not conforming? did you try to remove one ram stick and then reboot. and then remove the other and replace the first and reboot? Any updates on your disappointing bios update??

Hello! Yes I got it sorted. It turns out it was not the bios at all despite all signs pointing to it. At the last second before dismantling the whole thing I tried some different cables with the motherboard. Turns out that my video card needed two separate 6+2 pin connectors running into separate slots on the PSU instead of the split cable that came with it. However, I initially had no issues with the card when I first booted, going as far to install windows. I believe what happened was the nvidia drivers downloaded via windows update, and when I installed the bios it also tried to use the new drivers, boosting the power requirements for the card. The card is a GTX 780 gigabyte windforce OC edition. If anyone has a similar experience I hope this helps.
