Hi, so I just got what I consider a mid end pc (sort of) but I'm pretty new at this so when it came to buy a gpu I just went for one that was on sale, the ATI Radeon HD 5450 2GB DDR3. My build is basically a core i5 4440 quadcore at 3.1 Ghz and 8GB of RAM. Should I be able to run games like Far Cry 3 at a decent-ish 30+ fps with this build? or is my gpu bottlenecking my cpu, if that's the case can you guys recommend me a vcard that suits my build please? thank you :)

The 5450 is an older low end card and it's not going to game well. The i5 4440 can keep up with just about any GPU. Whats your budget?

Something will always bottleneck. It's pretty much impossible to reach 100% load on all components in your system. That being said, your GPU is WAY too underpowered for your system.

Pretty much any video card will be an upgrade at this point. But, you have to give us a budget for us to recommend the best for what you're willing/able to spend.

dude you will be lucky if that card even play far cry 3 on low settings...its more than a bottleneck.. if your budget is really small and you dont mind having dx 10 then you can choose between a radeon 4850 to 4890 all costing less than $100 now and is still good for gaming.. if your not not on so much of a budget then you could go for a r9 270 or 280 .. i didnt list nvidia because they are always really expensive.. but on their side you can find a gtx 560 or 560 ti for cheap now and those outperforms the radeon 4000 series i mentioned.. not R series..hope i helped

An R9 280 will decimate an old gtx 560 Ti.

Yep, $190 on newegg($210 before the rebate).

But even a $165 r9-270x is considerably faster than an old GTX 560Ti.

thank you all, I'll take all your suggestions in. Sorry for stretching this thread a bit too long but can anyone tell me which 2010+ games can my actual build run smoothly? I'm definitely buying a new vcard anytime soon, I just want to know exactly what I'm sitting at.

R9 270x seems to be the best choice in that price range. Brands I recommend are Sapphire or Asus. If you buy that, you can run pretty much everything at almost max with a resolution of 1080p.

Edit:
By the way, which power supply do you have? We need to know whether your power supply can handle the new graphics card... It's gonna consume a lot more power than your current one.
