I have a Desktop PC with the following hardware:

Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M LX Processor: AMD FX™ 6100 six core 3.30ghz
Graphics: POWERCOLOR HD 7870 2gb Operating System: Windows 8.1 64 bit

The problem i have is the graphics card will work for a short while, then the screen will flicker, go blank or fills with colourful lines. So i’m forced to restart the computer. It will boot as far as showing the Windows 8 Logo but will then reboot itself to the same point again and will then keep restarting itself over and over. The only way i can get the computer to fully boot is to do so in ‘safe mode’ then disable my graphics card so that it works using the onboard card.

Check your temps. List exact brand/model PSU.
Is this a new GPU?

with 7000 cards I find the 13.12 or 13.4 work the best with them [opinion]
