Hey everyone, after looking around on the forum I cobbled together this gaming PC on the cheap. I have a maximum budget of $600, and wanted to make sure that I was getting the most bang for my buck.

I already have a monitor and keyboard/mouse, and would go for better performance over bigger storage.

Let me know what you all think.

Your partpicker list has 32bit Windows in it FYI

Powersupply is from Microcenter and isn't of the best quality. Might look into EVGA:

Looks good for a start. I would try to get 8GB of ram into the build from the start. That way you have a matched set.

If you don't need a lot of storage, try for a 128GB or 120GB SSD, you can always add a hard drive later. That will get you good desktop performance.

Don't worry, this thing can still play games at medium at 1080p.
I chose the G3420 just because it is cheaper and you can upgrade to a stronger CPU in the future.
Also, the G3420 will bottleneck the R7 260X in some CPU intensive games.Overclocking might help reduce that. :)
600W will be enough for the R7 260X,you have 1TB of space and you have a Z97 motherboard, which will help a lot when upgrading to a better CPU.
All the best,mate. ;)

This might be 15 bucks more than your budget but will hold its own when it comes to gaming , I replaced the Tier 5 PSU with a better Tier3 one.

Went for R9 270 and managed to squeeze in 8GB of RAM as well as 64 Bit OS for just 15 more bucks.

I didn't know I could get and Intel CPU and 8GB of RAM for so (relatively) cheap! I also coughed up the extra 20 bucks and grabbed the r7 265.

Thanks for all the help!
