Make sure you are using the correct Sony website for your country as some models are only available in specific countries.
Therefore, if you use the wrong website, your model may not be listed.

I would check that model #... I think if you can not read the label on the bottom it may be in the BIOS.

You are right, but I cant find any support in the Spanish website.... when you select "Ordenadores VAIO" and scroll to the bottom, you find "Asistencia" click it and gives you an ERROR 404... so epic...

Wouldn't be more usefull that all the SONY websites could have all the drivers?

Nekro, there's no Sony USA, CAN, UK, AUS site that supplies any better links than you've found. Sony used to be better than this - now they're as bad as HP.

The worst thing is that the Motherboard Chipset Drivers can be critical, and there's little chance to discover those without trying any variety of other SVE151xxxx series. That's probably what I'd do next... hopefully, the Wrong Drivers will simply refuse to install - not render the machine unbootable.

(You will definitely want to learn about SAFE MODE, by the way, on Win 8.)

If this indeed has the Radeon Video and is an AMD chipset, I would probably go to AMD and install their AUTO-DETECT software and see if they can deduce what you need.

This might give you Motherboard Chipset, certainly Video, HDMI and perhaps Audio. Of course, you must have the LAN services functioning first. (If I couldn't get the LAN port to function, then I'd plug in a Wireless USB and use that, at least temporarily.)

(This is the second Sony in Spain that has some model-number that Sony no longer acknowledges. Does Sony have something against Spain? Is this that Black Ship thing again?!!)

Well, thx for the replies, I decided to try to install what i needed using the "brother driver's", in this case, it worked xD..... soooo..... i wil close this, but anyway, thx for the support :D

PD: Christine, yes, used the AMD autodetect tool for the video drivers, but i needed the network one :D

Since last March or so Sony is no longer in the PC/Laptop business having sold that division to a Japanese interest. As of that moment VAIO became a Japanese market only brand. Slowly but surely the support sites hosted by Sony are going to start drying up.

Thanks, BOATy. (Does it bother you to hear subs referred to as 'ships'?)

Aboard this site, I've seen 3 Vaio problems with locating now-disappeared model-based drivers. Ridiculous. Well, Sony's done this before - in a market, then out, then back in again. C'est la view... I avoid HP computers because of their nebulous model-numbering, and now Sony wins that award, too. Thanks!
