i have the asrock z97 extreme 4 motherboard and for the last month ive had issues with it not booting when i press the power button, discovered that now i need to boot by pressing the "clear cmos button" asrock suggest i clear the cmos using the jumper, i did that, replaced the battery, breadboarded it and it still doesnt boot normally. im at the point of saying asrock GFYS and buying a new different one, but before i do that please can anyone help me..

i5 4690k
msi gtx 770 4gb
corsair 8gb ram
evga 850w g2 psu (brand new, i replaced my corsair cx750 thinking that was the problem)

Solution
After you boot the PC, check the BIOS version because it need the 1.30 version to support i5 4690K. If it had the 1.30 one then the problem may from something else.
CPU support list. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme4/?cat=Down...

If you have other cpu to test the MB, or Mb to test the CPU, or test them in your friend PC, then it will make lots more easy, And after each time you clear the CMOS, do you reset the BIOS setting in the BIOS and reboot the PC?

And other parts look like compatible. The problem may from either CPU or MB.

I have no friends with PCs locally nor the spares to try other boards etc. After clearing the CMOS I change my bios to default again and change my boot sequence. Its never been over clocked, all stock settings. I've really had enough and just don't know what to do? Once its on it stays on and has no issues at all. I'm seriously considering just buying an Asus z97 maximus ranger rog. I want to spend around £100 again but surely there has to be a fix?

Because you did try the breadboarded method, that means the problem came from either cpu or MB like I said before.
1) Bring the pc to the local pc shop let them use other cpu to test the MB. Or test your cpu.
2) Return the MB or cpu, or exchange the MB or cpu. But you don't know which has the problem. so if you want return both of them.
