Today I got on my PC to find a message floating around on the screen saying "Frequency out of Range". I restarted the computer but 2 seconds after I hit the power button, the message returns. It does it every time I try to start the computer. I had to go to the library to look up answers, which haven't helped. I have tried hitting F8 repeatedly after turning on the computer to try to start it in safe mode. It does nothing but continue showing the error message. I have tried turning on the computer with the Windows boot disk in. It does not show anything but that same "Frequency out of Range" message. I have tried removing the graphics card that I bought some time ago and plugging the monitor back into it's onboard. Still no changes. I do not understand how the issue even started. It was working fine when I went to sleep last night, but when I got on today that error was already showing. Nothing has been altered in any graphics settings, ever. No one touches the PC but me. So I have no idea what started the issue or how to get past the error message to investigate the cause or fix it. Can anyone help me get past the frequency message of death?

Frequency out of range sounds like no display connected to me. Have you tried checking your monitor cables?

I have resolved the issue even though I don't understand how. First of all, dovah-chan, my monitor displays a different message if it is receiving nothing from the tower. It will say "No Signal" if the monitor is on but the tower is off or not connected.

ss202sl, no I could not get into safe mode, as I stated in the original question when I said that hitting F8 would not work.

I have no clue how this solved it, but all I did was unplug the monitor from the power outlet so I could slide it out to look at it's back to see if it had any type of reset switch or something. There wasn't one. So I slide it back, plugged it back into the wall, and turned the computer back on to try all the methods I mentioned again. This time it started up like as if there never was an issue. No error.

Thanks for trying guys, but somehow I "accidentally" fixed it.
