Hello, i want to undevolt my Core 2 Quad Q6600 because the temperatures are WAY too big, i mean. Im playing Team Fortress 2 and im getting 74 Celsius, damm. Anyway, i have the stock cooler from intel and it s**** donkey ba*ls, And i cant replace it because thats the way it came out of the factory, Hewlett Packard 2820h <- motherboard.

Thats how the cooler looks (Inside the black plastic tube is a fan) http://imgur.com/IxyEg7n

Solution
just because it has a factory heat sink on it does not mean you cannot upgrade to a better heat sink/fan setup. If you're any kind of handy, just open your case, take a few measurements to determine how much space you actually have, and shop around for a good air cooling system. if you have the headroom, the coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo would cool that down real easy. if you need a low profile heat sink/fan, take a look at the ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm CPU Cooler. All copper contacts in anything you choose would be the way to go.

really not sure what u mean when u say you cant remove the stock heat sink... i've worked on a few store bought dells and hps and have never had an issue getting the sink off, and i've never seen a...

good luck!

Solution
It may be possible to replace the cooler AFAIK all the LGA775 coolers use the same 4 point pushpin retention system or at least the same spacing.
Main possible problem is the case, if it's a small case standard tower type coolers won't fit.
Options like that are found in the system BIOS, but most OEMs lock those features out these days, they may be available for your...Mature system, though. ;)
The Other option is to clean to cooler and system fans thoroughly and replace the CPU cooler thermal paste.

The processor will throttle when the temprature gets close to 100°C and it will shutdown if need be. I know because that happened to my Q6600 when the fan failed several years ago and it still runs fine 24x7. 74°C won't damage it, but even if it did, you could buy a used one for $40.
